Temple Christian School

Administration

Dr. Ted Hollingsworth

School Administrator

My wife Suzie and I are active members of Temple Baptist Church.  I have been praying for and supporting the ministry of Temple Christian School even before becoming a member of the church.  It is indeed a privilege to be involved in this ministry where one has the responsibility of equipping the whole student.  With the outstanding staff at Temple we can, and will, do just that.  My heart is in Christian Education and for me, nothing is more satisfying.

After my salvation, the Lord called me into full-time service and I went off to college. Many doors were opened to me during and after college.  God led me into an assistant pastor position where I directed all the education programs of that church.  I have teaching experience both at college and high school levels.  I have been involved in helping Christian schools over the years.  My degrees are history (BA and MA), and in Christian education (BRE, MRE, and DRE).

Mrs. Hydorn

Office Staff; English, Biology

The Lord opened the door for me to leave a job at the State Attorney's Office and return to teaching in 1998, the year Temple started using the A Beka curriculum.  I graduated from Florida State  University (Go Seminoles) with a BS degree in Education.  I have three wonderful daughters, all graduates of Temple Christian School, who are doing well in college.  TCS provided opportunities for my girls that they would not have had if they were one student in 700-1000. Having my girls in a Christian environment, with teachers who cared about them as individuals and a strong curriculum has made a difference in their life.  It has been a blessing in my life to be apart of a school where the Lord reigns, the children are not perfect, but loved and forgiven, and prayer is vital everyday.

Mrs. Schafer

Office Staff; Keyboarding/Computers

My husband and I have 2 children attending Temple Christian School.  We are very pleased with TCS and are very glad the Lord led us here.  The Godly staff and strong curriculum have been very important to us.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Michigan State University and have worked in Hotel Management for 17 years.  I have volunteered at Temple since 2001.  I love the Lord and look forward to what He has in store for me and my family.

Staff

Mrs. Booth

K3/K4 Teacher & Before School Care

I started working a Temple Christian School as a substitute teacher along with four public schools in the area in 1998.  I really noticed the difference right away and enjoyed working at TCS every chance I got - much more than the other schools.  It is wonderful to start the school day with Bible study and prayer!  The attitude of the staff is so much greater than the other schools, too.  There is an obvious sense of lobe and concern for each individual at this school.

In 1999, I decided that TCS would be the only school that I would substitute at and my son, who was entering 7th grade began attending here.  In 2001, I began a wonderful career of teaching K3 full-time.  I enjoy it very much!  I consider myself very blessed to work with these little children and watch them grow and learn so much.  Jesus said, "Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein."  When I watch these precious children day by day, that verse becomes very easy to understand.

Who could not enjoy a job where you are paid to work with little children, have snack time, play time, and nap time?  What a job!

Mrs. Briggs

Second Grade

I found Temple Christian School when my daughter wasn't getting the attention she needed in public school.  I now have all three of my children at Temple. I am thankful to have Temple Christian School as a support in bringing up our children in the ways of the Lord.  And I am pleased to have the privilege to be a part of molding many lives for Christ.  I look forward to teaching 2nd Grade again this coming year.

Mrs. Bundy

Jr. High Science; American Sign Language (ASL)

I like the fact that Temple Christian School teaches Bible and focuses on spiritual learning and growth. Also, the teachers and staff at Temple Christian really encourage and support each other.

I have a AS degree from BCC and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from UCF.  God has given me a true passion for teaching ASL. My husband and I attend Temple Baptist Church where I often interpret for the deaf and I also work with 3rd to 6th grade girls in the AWANA's.  I have 3 sons who all attend Temple Christian School.

Mrs. Childers

Third / Fourth Grades

God brought me to Temple Christian School where I have been happily teaching third grade for the last nine years.  It has been an awesome experience to help train elementary students spiritually and academically.  I am humbled to be a part of this growing ministry.  My fellow faculty members are some of the most caring and godly people I have ever had the privilege of  working with.  It's an honor to witness the love and prayers that are continually poured out on our students.  It is our sincere desire to see these students grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We have committed ourselves to train the students academically so that they may fulfill God's calling on their lives.

I have three wonderful children of my own, and have had the privilege of having them educated at TCS.  It has been a constant encouragement to me to know that my children were in a truly Christian environment.  I appreciate the outstanding curriculum that TCS has to offer.  My children were challenged and well trained.  As a mother, if you were to ask me if I thought Christian education is worth all the expense and sacrifice, I would heartily say "YES".

Temple Christian School is not only a place where my children learn Spiritual Truth and strong academics, but a place where I can teach students to excel in their academics and spiritual walk with God.

I graduated from Pensacola Christian College and have 14 years of teaching experience - 10 years at TCS.  I have also served as school counselor and preschool director.

Mrs. Maynard

Athletic Director; Yearbook; PACE

I have been a teacher at Temple Christian School for 4 years.  Not only has Temple made a positive impact on my life but also on the lives of my 5 children.  Three of them have already graduated from Temple Christian and my youngest daughter will be a junior next year.  In 1998, Brian was the first (and only) graduate from TCS.  He met his wife Renee at Temple who also graduated from Temple.  Hannah graduated in 2005 and received the Bright Futures Scholarship.  She played college volleyball for 2 years at BCC on scholarship and has been accepted to UNF to continue her studies, seeking an advanced degree in Education Administration.  Sarah is a proud member of Temple's class of 2007 with a Bright Futures Scholarship and plans to earn a degree in Pharmacy.

As you can see, Temple Christian School has been a big part of our family for years.  I enjoy being at Temple, both working and as a parent.  The Lord has done great things in our lives and I give a lot of credit to the Christian teachers and staff at Temple.  All our girls were in Christian school for 15 years.  Each started in K-3 and have or will graduate from Temple.  Each year we have been blessed by the Lord; financially, spiritually, and physically.  Thank you Temple Christian School teachers and staff for being a blessing to my family and I.

Mrs. Salazar

Physical Education; Spanish I & II; Head Softball Coach

TCS has been a blessing to me and my family for the last 10 years. I teach Spanish from a traditional approach with some material presented using the all Spanish approach. Major projects include a family tree and cooking a Spanish food.

I have taught and coached at TCS for the last 10 years and there is no better feeling than to know that your children will be attending a school where they a truly loved and prayed for.

Mr. Wooley

Music

It is indeed an honor to work in the ministry in which I was raised. I was born in Orlando, FL, but my family moved to Titusville when I was 2 years old. I have attended Temple Baptist Church since that time. I graduated from Astronaut High School in 1983, and attended Liberty University and Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo graduating in 1994 with a BS in Youth Ministry and Bible and a full minor in Music. I have worked with musical ensembles and youth groups in Texas and Tennessee before returning to assist TCS in building a music department in 2001. I have worked in that area as well as assisting in other areas of the ministry at Temple, but my first love is music. After forming and directing the Servant's Heart Sr. High vocal ensemble this past year, I have felt the Lord leading me to concentrate more of my energy with our elementary music students. I am very excited about our music students this year and look forward to encouraging more students to develop and utilize the musical gifts and abilities God has given them.
